Indian Stone patio with raised decking area in Bowden, Cheshire

The Project

Gavin Shute and the team were commissioned to design and construct a new patio with a raised area that would be suitable for a hot tub.
After discussing with the client what their needs were, it was paramount that the design incorporated materials that are easily managed and maintained.

The team got to work removing the old patio and cleared the whole space for the new design to be implemented.

The materials we chose for the main patio were Rag Green Indian Stone patio packs. We decided to frame the patio using a double edge of charcoal setts which colour matched the doors and window frames of the property.

For that little bit of luxury the client’s had asked us to create an area suitable for a hot tub! We decided that this would be a raised area constructed using composite decking, this type of decking requires little or no maintenance in its life span. The decking was surrounded by a glass balustrade which gave the hot tub area that little bit of opulence.

We cleaned the old brick wall at the back of the deck, added wall plants and lighting to the whole area to give certain prominence to parts of the garden in the evenings.

We also helped the client’s choose the planters along with the plants to bring some colour and life back to the garden.

Within a few weeks what was once an area where we spent little or no time became the hub of most evenings (in the summer and even some in the winter)
